For most users, the selection of a vaporizer is really constrained by the price. Be realistic with yourself on what you can comfortably spend. Reliability
When you purchase a vaporizer you want it to work as intended and when you want it to. The reliability of a vaporizer depends on the design, construction materials, and overall craftsmanship. You should always follow the usual manufacturer’s cleaning recommendations and may also have to replace certain components such as screens, bags or balloons, and mouthpieces from time to time. Doing these things can extend the life of your vaporizer.
Always do your research!!! Check online reviews and forums to learn more about the reliability of the vaporizers you are considering. Investing in a quality device is more expensive upfront but worth it in the long run as your device will last.
Power Source
Vaporizers derive their heat from either flame or electric power.
Electrically powered vaporizers are more common, usually using some variation of a ceramic heater. They can either depend on being plugged in or on batteries. Plug-in vaporizers are obviously less portable and are often called desktop models. Battery operated vaporizers, on the other hand, are portable. Some vaporizers operate with removable batteries, but usually the battery is an internal rechargeable. The issue with these is whether you can easily replace the battery yourself. Usually you can’t, and although manufacturers offer a replacement service for a reasonable fee, this involves shipping a used vaporizer and a loss of use until it is returned.
Warm-up Time
Vaporizers need heat in order to operate and it can take anywhere from a few seconds all the way to upwards of 20 minutes for some to heat to operating temperatures. Each design will vary in warm-up time and this is something you should consider when purchasing your vaporizer.
Certain vaporizers, such as portable battery powered units, heat up quickly and can be used moments after powering them on. However, there are other units, often called desktop vaporizers, which take several minutes to get to the perfect vaping temperatures.
Discretion
Where you will be using your device really does matter. This is because vaporizing can be easily misinterpreted and even considered taboo to some. If you are using it within your home you might not be concerned with discretion but if you want to take it outdoors you want it to be portable and concealable.

Product Warranty
A product warranty is important regardless of the reliability of your vaporizer. When it comes to vaporizer devices things can, and often will, fail or malfunction. It is not enough to have a good warranty on paper; the service must live up to the guarantee. Again, do your research and check online reviews and forums to learn what to expect.
Read the warranty carefully and pay attention to the conditions, since the warranty period for parts of some vaporizer parts might be shorter than the overall warranty, and some parts might not even be covered at all. Some manufacturers will not honor a warranty for a device that was not purchased from an authorized dealer.
